Rajiv’s story

A resident of Gwalior, Rajiv used to work as a security guard for a private company. His father works as a farmer. Rajiv got married three months ago. The life of Rajiv and his family was ordinary until one day, he suffered a tragedy. Tragically, his family’s life was changed forever.
That day Rajiv had gone out with his brother-in-law and met with an accident. They both sustained very serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital immediately.
However, doctors denied Rajiv treatment in Gwalior as he had suffered a spinal injury. To treat him, his family shifted him to AIIMS Delhi. Looking forward to receiving treatment here for him.
Injury to the head is one of the most expensive injuries. Rajiv’s financial situation is not good. He is from the underprivileged section of society and does not have a secure job. He is now being cared for by his brother Sudeep and his father in the hospital. It is heartbreaking to see the medical bills they have to borrow from here and there to keep his treatment going.
In Rajiv’s case, his father is a farmer and barely earns anything, his mother is a housewife, and his brother is studying and unemployed. If they were to live this way, we can only imagine how difficult it would be for them to spend every night and day. Every time, they think about what they can do to provide him with medical care since they do not have any money.
What do the doctors have to say?
Rajiv’s spinal cord has been injured, according to doctors. There is hope that Rajiv will get better, but it will take time. The hope that one day he will be able to return to normal is what drives his family to work day and night for these words.
Having to deal with such difficult moments as this made us reflect on how hard it is for a family to cope.
